My Story

My vision

My deepest wish is to create spaces—online and in the real world—where people can slow down and rediscover the healing power of nature. Growing up in small Hungarian villages, I learned from my grandmother that herbs are more than ingredients; they are stories, memories and silent teachers. Creative Essences was born from this memory, from the scent of freshly picked viola and the taste of chamomile tea shared around a kitchen table.

I envision a world where modern life and ancestral wisdom meet. Through my blog, guides and travel journals, I want to inspire you to bring herbal rituals into your everyday routine and to explore the world in a mindful way. At the same time, my long‑term dream is to build a living, breathing Scented Labyrinth Garden—a 1 500 m² sanctuary of medicinal herbs, edible flowers and aromatic plants in southern Hungary. This garden will be a place of learning, of wonder and of community, where each path leads you deeper into the stories and scents of plants.

Whether you’re reading a recipe, joining a workshop or wandering through the labyrinth, my vision is the same: to reconnect you with nature’s creative essences, to remind you that beauty and balance are all around us, and to help you carry that sense of calm and curiosity into your own life.

My mission

My mission is to help people reconnect with nature’s creative essences through herbal wisdom, aromatherapy rituals and mindful exploration. I believe that the scents, flavors and stories of plants can guide us toward a calmer, more balanced life. Through Creative Essences, I share practical knowledge, personal stories and travel inspiration that encourage a slower, more conscious way of living. By blending digital resources with tangible experiences—like the future Scented Labyrinth Garden—I aim to build a community that celebrates the healing power of herbs, gardens and landscapes, and empowers everyone to bring this harmony into their own lives.

Background

I grew up in tiny villages in southern Hungary (Hercegszántó, Nagybaracska, Vodica (Baja)), where the days were measured by the scent of flowers from my grandmother’s garden. Those childhood years, spent wandering among herbs and listening to stories about plants and people, sparked a lifelong curiosity about how nature shapes us.

To deepen that connection, I studied rural development and agricultural engineering at Szent István University and later specialised in the cultivation and processing of medicinal and aromatic plants at the University of Szeged. My academic journey took me through doctoral research on gastronomy as cultural heritage, translation studies, and even logistics—an eclectic mix that reflects how many different paths can lead back to the land.

Over the past two decades I’ve worn many hats: project manager, government adviser, EU programme coordinator, translator, and volunteer. Whether I was helping to design rural development policies, writing speeches for the Minister of Agriculture, or coordinating local food networks and environmental initiatives, one theme kept returning: the resilience of people and the healing power of plants. Along the way, I trained in fitotherapy, aromatherapy and alternative movement therapies, eventually sharing that love through “Hétszínvilágtánc,” a dance‑movement programme exploring colour, rhythm, and wellbeing.

Travel, hiking, photography and writing have always been my ways of exploring the world. I’ve published articles, co‑authored books. Each project has taught me that creativity and curiosity are just as important as policy and science. In 2022 I moved back to my roots, helping in my parents farm and in July 2024 I welcomed my son into the world—a miracle that has deepened my desire to create a more nurturing and sustainable future. It is for him, and for everyone who longs to reconnect with nature, that Creative Essences and the Scented Labyrinth Garden are taking shape.
